Pack 916 Pinewood Derby- Jan 31st, 2026
The Pinewood Derby is Almost Here! 🏁
Are you ready to race? Each den will be recognized with speed awards, and we also have an open category for fastest cars. But that’s not all!
We have plenty of non-speed categories too, so everyone has a chance to win: Scoutiest Car, most Creative Car, most Artistic Car, cutest Car, most Colorful Car

The Trail Trekkers program offers a series of hikes throughout the San Francisco Bay Area that can be completed by Cub Scouts and their families. Hiking is a great way for Cubs to get physical exercise and promote good health while also discovering the area’s beauty, flora, and fauna.
Kids will earn a hiking bead after each hike. Keep in mind that completing five hikes in a year will earn Scouts a nice prize!

AOL Cross Over Ceremony 🌉
Celebrate our Arrow of Light Scouts as they take the next big step in Scouting! Join us for the AOL Bridging Ceremony, a special Cub Scout tradition marking the transition of fifth-grade Webelos Scouts from Cub Scouts into Scouts BSA. Let’s cheer them on, honor their hard work, and welcome them to their next adventure! After the ceremony, we’ll have refreshments for the Cub Scouts and the parents so that we all can celebrate together!

Pack916 Sport Fun Day -Stockton Kings vs. Salt Lake City Stars, March 2026
Scout Sport Fun Day is an exciting annual event where Cub Scouts and their families come together to enjoy a fun-filled sports experience. It’s a chance to:
- Watch live professional sports and cheer on the action.
- Spend time with fellow Scouts and families in a fun, social setting.
- Celebrate teamwork, sportsmanship, and the joy of being active.
This year, we’re heading to Sacramento to watch a live basketball game: Stockton Kings vs. Salt Lake City Stars. The game starts at 5:00 PM, and it promises to be an action-packed evening full of excitement, camaraderie, and memories for all ages!
Scout Sport Fun Day combines the thrill of live sports with the values and spirit of Scouting—an event no Scout will want to miss! 🏀

Pack916 Overnight Campout – USS Pampanito

Includes tour of USS Pampanito & morning Hot Cocoa.

Come aboard the USS Pampanito and go back in time to World War II when she patrolled Japanese waters searching for enemy ships! Spend the night in the same bunks used by the Submariners, enjoy a personalized tour from bow to stern including the engine room, Torpedo Room, Control Room, and Conning Tower, and take in the sights of the San Francisco waterfront

Pack916 Spring Family Campout, May 2026
Save the Date. May2nd, 2026 – Coyote Hills Regional Park!
This will be a fun and memorable experience for our Scouts as they learn how to set up their tents, stay comfortable outdoors, and enjoy nature. In the evening, we’ll gather around the campfire and spend time stargazing together.
More details will be sent out soon, including packing lists and schedules.

Great Little Yosemite Trail Trekker, Dec 2025
The GGAC Trail Trekker Program is a guided hiking experience that encourages Scouts and their families to explore local trails while building endurance, confidence, and a love for the outdoors.
Cubs will hike designated trails and earn recognition as they complete the program requirements. Nothing stops our Cubs from hitting the trails—even in December!

Pancake Fundraiser + Cub Scouts Talent Show, Dec 2025
Our Pancake Fundraiser ended on a high note, thanks to the incredible generosity of our parents and the amazing talent of our Cub Scouts! 🎉 The Scouts wowed us with singing, piano performances, and hilarious skits that had everyone laughing, cheering, and enjoying a truly memorable morning. What a fun way to start the day!

Pack916’s Pack Meeting, Nov 2025
We’re Honored to Welcome a Guest Officer!
We’re excited to invite a local officer to our November Pack Meeting to speak to our Cub Scouts about safety and prevention. This is a wonderful opportunity for our Scouts to learn valuable safety tips and ask questions directly from a community officer.

Pack916 Scouting For Food, Nov 2025
The Scouting for Food 2025 activity is now concluded. We collected 2000+ food items. Kudos to AOLs for leading the dens.
Thanks to all volunteers who lent us their time for dropping off collected food. Thanks to Sathya, our wolf den leader, for loaning us their driveway.

Pack916 Veteran’s Day Parade, Nov 2025
Cub Scouts proudly participated in the Veteran Parade in downtown Pleasanton, showing respect and gratitude to those who have served 🇺🇸. It was inspiring to see our Scouts marching with pride, learning the importance of community service, and honoring our heroes.

Pack916 Popcorn Fundraiser, Nov 2025
After numerous weeks of Pack916 Cub Scouts’ hard work, our popcorn fundraiser has finally ended successfully! Thank you to the parents, Cub Scouts, and our community for your support . Whether through buying popcorn or donating to help fund our Scouts’ activities, your generosity is truly appreciated!

Lake Del Valle Family Camp, April 2024
The pack camped at Lake Del Valle where we enjoyed a beautiful hike, plenty of delicous food, and a roaring campfire with songs, skits, and final honors to a US flag that neede to be retired.
Stockton Kings Game, March 2024
The Cubs attended the Stockton Kings game and had a chance to be the honor guard for the flag during the National Anthem! Then they got to watch the game up close in terrific seats.



Blue and Gold Banquet, February 2024
The Blue and Gold Banquet is a celebration of the birthday of Scouting. Globally, Scouts celebreate February 22 as “Founder’s Day” on the birthday of Scouting’s founder, Sir Rober Baden-Powell. In the US, we celebrate February 8 as the birth of the Boy Scouts of America. This year, we had a Mardi Gras theme and enjoyed the talents of local magician, John Gardenier



Pinewood Derby, January 2024
Our Cubs built their Pinewood Derby race cars and had a blast racing them! The came up with some very creative – and humorous! – designs. Congratulations to all the racers!





Shelf Build for our Shed, November 2023

Veterans Day Parade, November 2023
Our Cub Scouts did their civic duty by honoring those who have served our country in uniform. They marched down Main Street Pleasanton to say, “Thank you for your service!”

Lake Chabot Family Camp, October 2023
The pack went camping among the beautiful redwoods. We enjoyed a hike, a campfire, and fantastic photos. As you can see in the photo, the pack parents love cooking up a storm when we camp! If you go home hungry, it’s your fault!!!

Sycamore Grove Park Hike
The Trail Trekker program is a fantasic way for Cub Scout families explore the natural wonders of the Bay Area one fun hike at a time. In April, we visited Sycamore Grove in Livermore where we got to see the historic ruins of a winery.

Castleridge Trail Hike
We took a trip up the Pleasanton Ridge in between the rains. There was mud and water and a great time!

2023 Pinewood Derby
The Cubs did their usual job of building creative race cars and had a blast running them down the tracks!

25th Annual Tri-Valley
Veterans Day Parade
Pack 916 thanked the brave men and women who have served our country in uniform by participating in the Annual Tri-Valley Veterans Parade.

Fall Family Camp
Amazing food, gorgeous hikes, a robust campfire program with flag retirement and more…all in under 24 hours. Pack 916 knows how to go camping!

Little Yosemite Trail Trekker
In October, 40+ Cubs and family members headed out to Sunol Regional Wilderness and hiked out to Little Yosemite. Aside from the breathtaking views, we enjoyed climbing the rocks at Little Yosemite and met a few tarantulas on the trail!!! The Trail Trekker continues to be one of our most popular ways to get outside and enjoy the gorgeous Bay Area outdoors.

Coyote Hills Coastal Cleanup
On 9/11, our Cubs gave back to the community by participating in a cleanup project at Coyote Hills Regional Park. In addition to pulling out five giant bags of invasive species, the Cubs found water bottles, candy wrappers, four hats, sunglasses, and a fishing pole – all of which were polluting the marshes at the park.

Back to Scouting BBQ
We kicked off the 2022-2023 Cub Scout year with a great event at the Highland Oaks Cabana Club. The Cubs got to play Human Foosbal, Giant Angry Birds, Tug-o-war, and got to climb a rope bridge!

2022 Spring Family Camp
Hiking with amazing views of the bay, campfire program, and the amazing meals from Chez Chip’s Camp Cuisine!!! A good time was had!

Blue and Gold Banquet Picnic!
Since we couldn’t have food indoors, we did what Scouts do and went outside! Our Blue & Gold Picnic was a blast. We had a magician who had us laughing pretty hard and he even gave each Cub a magic trick to do at home!

The Trail Trekker program is a fantasic way for Cub Scout families explore the natural wonders of the Bay Area one fun hike at a time. In February, we visited Coyote Hills. We enjoyed a walk on the boardwalk through the marshes and a hike up to some amazing views of the bay.

2022 Pinewood Derby
The Pinewood Derby returned to in-person this year and what a blast! The Cubs enjoyed building and racing their cars. They may have been masked, but they were smiling!

Rodeo Lagoon Trail Trekker Hike
The Trail Trekker program is a fantasic way for Cub Scout families explore the natural wonders of the Bay Area one fun hike at a time. In January, we visited Rodeo Lagoon in the Marin Headlands. We enjoyed beautiful weather, a walk on the beach, and amazing views.

Sycamore Grove Trail Trekker Hike
The Trail Trekker program is a fantasic way for Cub Scout families explore the natural wonders of the Bay Area one fun hike at a time. In November, we visited Sycamore Grove in Livermore where we got to see the historic ruins of a winery (and a hollow tree!)

November = Compassion
In November, we spent time learning about compassion for our neighbors. We had a visit from a Guide Dogs for the Blind trainer and had an online class to learn some basic American Sign Language.

Veterans Day Parade
The Cub Scouts of Pack 916 wish to express our heartfelt gratitude to all the veterans who have served our nation. We strive to live by the ideals of the Scout Oath and Scout Law so that we grow into citizens and neighbors who are worthy of the great sacrifices that secured for us the blessings of liberty.

Pack 916 Family Camp
We had a good set of fun activities – a hike with an amazing view, two telescopes looking at the craters of the moon, the moons of Jupiter, and the rings of Saturn, camp cuisine from Chip’s famous camp kitchen, a campfire (real, actual fire!) with skits and a flag retirement ceremony, and we even had a band of coyotes howling for us as we were getting ready for bed. A good time was had!
The lockdown didn’t stop us from enjoying one of the time-honored traditions of Cub Scouting! Just as with everything else, we made it virtual and we had a good time! The Cubs built some amazing cars, and the leaders had a great time pretending to be YouTube stars.

Huckleberry Botanic Preserve Hike
Trail Trekker Hike on June 19th – Pack 916 continued our exploration of the natural wonders of the Bay Area with a Trail Trekker hike.
Saturday morning bike rides in the summer are the best! add to it the chance to find some geocaches (and some gummy fruit snacks!) and the Cubs had a great time!
